Kelsee Sweigard is a New York City-based performing artist. Native to Harrisburg, PA, her childhood was packed with dance training, piano lessons, voice lessons - all while pitching on her school's softball team and competing year-round in various leagues as a champion swimmer. While in high school, Kelsee discovered what would become her greatest love of all: musical theatre.
As a student in Shenandoah Conservatory's BFA Musical Theatre program, Kelsee performed regularly in the school's mainstage/studio theatre productions, and got involved with many student-run projects. She learned to play guitar, and nurtured her love for singing pop/rock music styles. She spent two seasons with the on-campus summerstock, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, favorite credits including: Man of La Mancha, Shrek, Les Misérables, Chicago, Crazy For You, and Mary Poppins.
Kelsee made her National Tour debut in Kinky Boots (dir./choreo. Jerry Mitchell) as the character Pat, and immediately after, was cast as Maureen Johnson in the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour (dir. Michael Greif; choreo. Marlies Yearby; music Tim Weil). Currently, she is on the 1st National Tour of Pretty Woman (Jerry Mitchell) in the Ensemble, playing Scarlett and others, and understudying the roles of Kit De Luca and Violetta. Her regional credits include Flat Rock Playhouse's How to Succeed...(dir./choreo. Richard J. Hinds) and Gypsy (dir./choreo. Amy Jones), and Rhetta Cupp in Great Plains Theatre's Pump Boys and Dinettes. Kelsee has performed worldwide as a production singer onboard Holland America Line, as well as with the B.B. King's All-Star Band At Sea. Her NYC workshop/concert credits include Ragtime (Ellis Island) and Agent 355 (music/lyrics Preston Max Allen), both directed by Sammi Cannold. Kelsee is a member of AEA and is represented by CLA Partners Talent Management.
